Genomics, Clonal Hematopoiesis, and the Leukemic Evolutionary Landscape

This chapter explores the genomic underpinnings of normal and malignant hematopoiesis, with particular emphasis on the phenomenon of clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) and its implications for leukemogenesis and cardiovascular disease. It discusses key somatic mutations, epigenetic regulators, and clonal dynamics that drive the progression from pre-malignant states to overt hematological malignancy. Current evidence linking clonal hematopoiesis to aging, therapy-related effects, and systemic inflammatory disease is also critically reviewed.
