Hepatobiliary Surgery: Technical Advances and Oncological Outcomes in Liver and Biliary Disease

This chapter reviews recent advances in hepatobiliary surgery with a focus on liver resection for primary and metastatic malignancy, living donor hepatectomy, and the surgical management of biliary tract disease. It addresses the expanding role of laparoscopic and robotic liver resection, parenchymal-sparing strategies, the use of portal vein embolization and associating liver partition with portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy, and the integration of intraoperative fluorescence imaging with indocyanine green for real-time anatomical delineation.
