Paediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnoea: Evolving Concepts in Diagnosis and Surgical Management

This chapter reviews recent advances in the evaluation and surgical management of paediatric obstructive sleep apnoea, examining the evolving evidence for adenotonsillectomy, drug-induced sleep endoscopy in children, and emerging upper-airway stimulation approaches. It critically appraises current polysomnographic diagnostic criteria, the neurocognitive and cardiovascular sequelae of untreated disease, and the management of complex cases including children with obesity, Down syndrome, and craniofacial anomalies.
