Radiomics and Imaging Biomarkers: Extracting Quantitative Insights from Medical Images

Radiomics—the high-throughput extraction of quantitative features from medical images—has emerged as a transformative approach for non-invasive tissue characterisation and outcome prediction. This chapter reviews the radiomics workflow from image acquisition and segmentation to feature extraction, model development, and clinical validation, critically addressing reproducibility challenges, standardisation efforts, and the integration of radiogenomics into precision oncology frameworks.
