Advances in Trauma Resuscitation and Damage Control Strategies

This chapter critically reviews the paradigm shift from conventional fluid resuscitation to balanced haemostatic resuscitation, including the evolving role of viscoelastic haemostatic assays, whole blood transfusion, and permissive hypotension. It examines damage control resuscitation and surgery frameworks, drawing on evidence from both military and civilian trauma settings to outline best practice for managing haemorrhagic shock and polytrauma in the contemporary emergency environment.
