Cutaneous Oncology: Advances in Melanoma and Non-Melanoma Skin Cancers

This chapter reviews the most significant advances in the biology, diagnosis, and management of cutaneous malignancies, with particular emphasis on melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. It covers the transformative impact of immune checkpoint inhibitors, BRAF/MEK targeted therapy, and the evolving role of sentinel lymph node biopsy and adjuvant systemic treatment. Emerging areas including tumor microenvironment characterization, predictive biomarkers, and neoadjuvant immunotherapy strategies are also critically examined.
