Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Applications in Plastic Surgery

This chapter examines the translational progress of regenerative medicine within the plastic surgery context, covering adipose-derived stem cells, platelet-rich plasma, and growth factor therapies in wound healing, fat grafting, and soft tissue augmentation. The current clinical evidence base is critically assessed alongside ongoing challenges in standardisation, regulatory approval, and long-term outcome data. Future directions in cell-based therapies and scaffold-mediated tissue regeneration are also explored.
