Robotic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Techniques in Plastic Surgery

This chapter examines the emerging applications of robotic platforms and minimally invasive endoscopic techniques within the plastic surgery operative repertoire, including robotic-assisted free flap harvest and inset, endoscopic approaches to forehead and midface surgery, and robot-assisted microsurgical procedures. The current evidence for clinical benefit, procedural safety, and cost-effectiveness is reviewed critically, and the chapter considers the trajectory of robotic technology adoption within the specialty, including the training demands and infrastructure requirements involved.
