Musculoskeletal radiology has embraced high-field MRI, ultrasound-guided intervention, and quantitative cartilage mapping techniques that permit earlier, more precise characterisation of joint, bone, and soft tissue pathology. This chapter reviews the state of the art in MRI for cartilage composition analysis, tendon and ligament pathology, bone marrow assessment, and ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal procedures, with discussion of the expanding role of whole-body MRI in systemic inflammatory and oncological skeletal disease.
