Neuropsychopharmacology: Mechanisms of Action and Novel Therapeutic Targets in CNS Disorders

Recent advances in the pharmacological management of neurological and psychiatric conditions, including depression, schizophrenia, Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease, and epilepsy, are comprehensively reviewed in this chapter. Special attention is given to emerging targets such as glutamate receptors, neuroinflammatory pathways, and psychedelic-derived compounds, as well as the translational challenges of CNS drug development.
