Wound Healing, Chronic Wounds, and Advanced Scar Management

This chapter provides a detailed review of the molecular and cellular biology of wound healing, with a focus on translating basic science advances into improved clinical management of acute and chronic wounds. Evidence-based strategies for the management of diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, and venous leg ulcers are critically appraised alongside advances in negative pressure wound therapy, bioactive dressings, and laser-based scar remodelling techniques that are transforming the management of hypertrophic and keloid scarring.
